Environmental Compliance & Circular Economy Engineering Program Manager (m/f/d)

As an Environmental Compliance and Circular Economy Engineering Programme Manager, you will lead and support the development and delivery of a wide range of regulatory and technical programmes focussing on Waste electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE), Batteries and Packaging.  You will lead and support the design, development, and delivery of global circular economy engineering solutions in the scope of end-of-life products/accessories and packaging take-back programs, for worldwide producers in North America. The position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced regulatory professional in a growing technical team with an international client portfolio. The ideal client will excel at interacting with multi-national clients in a technical, Client Relationship Management, product and programme focused capacity. You will provide support to several key clients and will work as part of a small team on several different projects at a time.

The company has an ethos of trust, accountability and absolute discretion derived from senior experience within blue chip organizations. The job holder will provide environmental regulatory consultancy advice across our clients’ portfolio of products.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the sales and delivery of North American external compliance and consultancy services to international producers.
  • Transforming requests from producers into service delivery quotations.
  • Supporting the development of ad-hoc quotations for tailored consulting projects related to extended producer responsibility compliance.
  • Setting up and managing contractual networks for compliance services, within the group and with external suppliers.
  • Managing member’s registration agreement and compliance reporting delivery through to collection of compliance related data from members / secure transfer to local service provider / management of timelines.
  • Setting up and controlling invoicing flow and measuring profitability of each client.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and market changes to update internal network and tools.
  • Reviewing complex customer requirements and design take-back programs that comply with those requirements, with aptitude for risk mitigation and by applying project management principles.
  • Act as a catalyst for designing bespoke consulting product lines, related to global take-back.
  • Managing contractual networks for global take-back, within the group and with external suppliers.
  • Set-up and improve operational workflows. Ensure continual service deliver improvement.
  • Monitoring service / operational performance and profitability by analyzing data and producing technical reports and customers charters.
  • Act as the customer operational / technical single point of contact.

Your qualifications

  • Engineering or Science Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 5-10 years in an environmental regulatory / waste management programme role
  • Client Relationship Management experience
  • Self-motivated and able to work within a team environment
  • Waste operations management experience (5 years)
  • Waste management legislation knowledge (handling, transport, and treatment)
  • Working knowledge of WEEE, Batteries and Packaging Regulations in North America
  • Experience in global WEEE, Batteries and Packaging Regulations is an advantage
  • Strong computer literacy and experience in sustainability matters
