A decade of launching circular economy startups across Europe
A decade ago, the Green Alley Award was designed as an initiative to invest and innovate for a greener future, aiming to identify innovative European business ideas that balance economy and ecology.
The 2024 application phase for startups is starting now with the add-on of celebrating the 10th anniversary of this challenge.
The Green Alley Award has a significant impact: it was the first award to promote European startups in the circular economy.
Over 1,600 innovative new ideas have been submitted for the chance to win the €25,000 prize since 2014.
The award fosters young founders and connects them to Landbell Group’s network of circular economy experts across Europe.
It showcases promising sustainable business solutions before they enter the mass market and offers established companies new sustainable alternatives to improve their products, services and supply chains.
A total of 226 startups competed for the 2023 award across categories encompassing the digital circular economy, recycling, and waste prevention, and the award went to S.Lab for their inventive, eco-friendly packaging solution.
The history of winners is impressive, from the pioneering spirit of RePack (2014) to the visionary forces of Adaptavate (2015), Green City Solutions (2016), Sulapac (2017), Aeropowder (2018), Gelatex (2019), Traceless Materials (2021) and Voltfang (2022).
The 10-year anniversary spans a transformation in the circular economy startup landscape across Europe.
This significant occasion allows us to reflect on the achievements that have shaped this journey and to envision the possibilities that lie ahead.
Applications start on 11th September. Find more information here.
