Landbell Group discusses challenges and issues at AMI conference

Landbell Group’s expert on recycling technologies, Siddharth Bagri, presented at the Chemical Recycling conference in Cologne on Wednesday 15th June.

Siddharth’s presentation – “The enlarged role of EPR in a circular economy” – focused on the following points:

• EPR schemes and their role in combating plastic pollution
• Current challenges for the sorting and recycling infrastructure of post-consumer plastic waste
• The necessity for additional recycling technologies and extensive stakeholder engagement

Landbell Group is investigating the challenges and possibilities of advanced recycling technologies for plastic waste. This event was therefore an opportunity to explore and discuss the developments in advanced recycling – and its integration in the recycling supply chain.

“Over the years, the chemical recycling conferences by AMI have been great platforms in bringing all the stakeholders from the plastics value chain together to discuss multiple issues facing the industry head-on,” reflected Siddharth.

“This year, the conference was particularly focused on the need for clear definitions and regulations surrounding chemical recycling from the EU level, addressing the ecological aspect of advanced recycling, the need for sustainably designed products, and the sourcing of feedstock.”
