Novapedra wins the Green Alley Award 2024 public vote

After a month of voting, the public has decided… and the winner is Novapedra!

So, congratulations to the Spanish startup for receiving most votes in this year’s public vote!

Novapedra produces ceramics from organic waste, without using natural gas in the manufacturing process.

Creative director, Emiliano Altamirano explained why the startup entered the Green Alley Award:

“Novapedra’s pursuit of the Green Alley Award stems from our commitment to blending premium quality with sustainable practices, showcasing how innovative, eco-friendly materials can revolutionise our industry and foster a more sustainable future.”

He also described what winning the public vote means to Novapedra:

“Winning the public vote has been quite a boost. We want to thank everyone who made the effort and voted, we´re filled with joy to count with their support.

We are also thankful to everyone at the Green Alley Award for their support and for shining a light on sustainable projects.”

Thinking ahead to the final, Emiliano said:

“We are looking forward to meeting the other finalists and learning about their projects, confident that together we will make a significant contribution to a more sustainable future.

What´s next?
Overall, the public vote received almost 3,000 votes – 12% of which went to Novapedra!

With this victory, Novapedra becomes the first of six startups to enter the Green Alley Award finals.

All the remaining 19 startups are still in the competition and the selection committee will choose the other five finalists in the next few weeks.
