Irish festival tackles growing problem of vapes
Landbell Group company, ERP Ireland has announced that, once again, it will be the principal circular partner of Body & Soul Festival, Ireland’s leading sustainable music festival, which takes place on 16 to 18 June.
As part of the collaboration, ERP Ireland has an artist bursary and is seeking to commission an artist to create a sculpture that will be displayed on site at the upcoming festival.
The focus of the piece will be to raise awareness about vape waste. As a form of ‘artivism’, the installation can do more than just entertain: it can significantly impact culture and society and highlight the importance of the recycling of vapes and e-waste in general.
Disposable, single-use and rechargeable vape and e-cigarette devices are consumer electronics, and they contain single use or rechargeable batteries. As the number of vape users increases, it is important to know how to dispose of used vapes responsibly.
Recognising that vape waste often ends up in household or general waste, ERP Ireland wants to promote the fact that it offers free recycling of single-use, rechargeable vape and e-cigarette devices through its battery collection network.
And, through this collaborative effort, ERP Ireland and Body & Soul want to make a significant impact on the proper disposal and recycling of vapes, thereby fostering a more circular future in the festival industry and beyond.
