Implementing EPR for packaging in Egypt

Following the publication of Law No. 202 of 2020 Promulgating the Law on Waste Management, the ground for the implementation of EPR in Egypt is being paved. Landbell Group will help that happen.

The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has awarded a contract to Landbell Group and Black Forest Solutions to advise on EPR for packaging in Egypt. The focus of the mission is waste packaging from consumer products, whether consumed within households or in the catering industry, which has a relevance for the whole country and, in particular, for its tourist areas.

The multinational team of consultants, including experts based in Egypt, will collect and analyse the existing regulations and data, engage various stakeholders, highlight how the regulatory framework should evolve, create the business plan for a producer responsibility organisation, as well as design terms of reference for its future licencing.

The period of assignment is April 1 – October 30, 2021. For more information, please contact us.
