Novo Verde at APED Retail Summit 2025
Novo Verde has renewed its commitment to advancing sustainability in the retail sector by once again sponsoring the APED Retail Summit 2025.
Organised by the Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies (APED), this annual gathering is considered the benchmark event for retail professionals in Portugal.
This year’s edition, themed Leading the Future, brought together stakeholders to examine emerging trends and the critical challenges shaping the sector today.
An Economic Impact Study of the Retail Sector in Portugal was also presented at the event.
Sustainability featured prominently on the agenda, reinforcing its status as a non-negotiable pillar of future retail strategies.
With topics ranging from digital transformation to supply chain resilience, the summit served as an important platform for discussion and reflection—particularly around the role of training and requalification of people in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
Taking Action with Wallies
To translate awareness into action, Novo Verde distributed Wallies—household recycling bins designed to make it easier for consumers to collect and separate glass packaging at home.
This practical initiative highlights Novo Verde’s hands-on approach to sustainability, focusing not only on education but also on enabling everyday behavioural change that helps the country to achieve its targets.
Throughout the day, retail professionals and APED members engaged in productive exchanges, exploring both the obstacles and opportunities facing the sector.
Novo Verde’s presence reaffirmed the organisation’s role as a catalyst for environmental stewardship within retail and beyond.
