Packaging EPR deadlines are coming!

The following deadlines are fast approaching in three states:

Oregon

Oregon requires producers subject to the Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act to register and report to the Oregon producer responsibility organisation (PRO) by 31 March 2025.

Obligated packaging producers must pay fees to the PRO by 1 July 2025.

On 1 July 2025, extended producer responsibility (EPR) for packaging and paper products also launches, making Oregon the first state to go live with their packaging EPR programme.

Colorado

Colorado’s Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling Act requires packaging producers to join the PRO by 1 July 2025.

Minnesota

Minnesota packaging producers with obligations under the Packaging Waste & Cost Reduction Act must join a PRO by 1 July 2025.
