EPR for the UAE

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change | وزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي (MOCCAE) has officially launched the UAE’s first national EPR pilot, in partnership with Tadweer Group, Abu Dhabi’s national waste management company.

The pilot will run until the end of the year and focuses on three high-priority waste streams: batteries, electrical and electronic equipment, and packaging.

It is supported by 26 companies across the value chain, from producers to retailers.

How to make sure that EPR is successful and works on the ground in the UAE?

Christophe Pautrat and his team at Landbell Group have worked on this question since October 2023, along with our partners at BlackForest Solutions GmbH Solutions.

Their work has included analysis of the current situation, stakeholder engagement, capacity building and concept development.
