Textiles EPR: it’s time to get started

7 October 2025

Today (9 September 2025), the European Parliament approved the revised Waste Framework Directive, which will introduce mandatory EPR for clothing and other textile products.

The amended Directive will enter into force once published in the Official Journal (expected in six to eight weeks’ time).

Member states will then have 30 months to implement national textile EPR schemes, which would be by early 2028.

At Landbell Group, we’re delighted that this was brought forward from October.

We’re ready: to help brands, support the reuse and recycling sector, stop pollution and boost the circular economy.

First up, a timely question…

Regulations into practice: why we need it and how to make it work?

On Thursday, Tjaco Twigt will be at Circular Textile Days to answer this question. Please join him and the team from ERP Netherlands, if you can.

If you need support:

– We’ve just launched a brand new online resource for textiles EPR: https://textiles-epr.com/

– You can also get in touch with our colleagues for guidance and advice.

We’re ready to go!
