Landbell offers customers RecyClass
Today’s packaging has to meet a wide range of requirements. Due to increased consumer demands, the ecodesign of packaging is playing an increasingly important role.
At the same time, the implementation of the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) last month will impose new obligations on the recyclability of packaging for producers.
From 2030, packaging that is not recyclable may no longer be sold in the EU, so producers need to start thinking about the recyclability of their packaging now.
In EMEA, Landbell Group operates 36 producer responsibility organisations (PRO) in 14 countries and is therefore a perfect fit for RecyClass, a cross-industry initiative that advances plastic products recyclability, while promoting the traceability of plastic waste and recycled plastic content in Europe.
As a PRO for packaging in Germany, Landbell is now offering its customers the opportunity to evaluate the recyclability of their plastic packaging free of charge using the RecyClass Online Tool.
This assessment not only applies to the German market, it also lays a stable foundation for bringing recyclable packaging onto the European market by including country-specific information on the collection, sorting and recycling infrastructures for each type of packaging.
RecyClass
RecyClass is a non-profit, cross-industry initiative that advances recyclability, brings transparency to the origin of plastic waste, and establishes a harmonised approach towards recycled plastic calculation and traceability in Europe.
It has developed a standardised methodology and testing procedures for the evaluation of plastic packaging recyclability.
The scientific data gathered is used to establish the RecyClass Design for Recycling Guidelines, which offer recommendations to the industry on how to improve the design of plastic packaging to secure its circular future.
This data is also transposed into the RecyClass Online Tool.
The power of collaboration
