ERP UK Ltd is the UK operation for European Recycling Platform (ERP) – the only pan-European producer responsibility organisation for WEEE, batteries and packaging. ERP is part of the Landbell Group – providing product related environmental compliance in 30 countries to enable customers to comply with various legal regulations worldwide. Our customers are household-name brands which have product related environmental obligations. The Landbell Group has collected more than 10 million tonnes of packaging, electronic waste and portable batteries – making a positive contribution to the environment and sustainability. We are a small and friendly team of 30 co-ordinating all operations in the UK on behalf of customers from the UK and around the world.

The Database Administrator is pivotal in working towards continuous improvement and therefore making the business more successful. The collection of packaging weights from suppliers is key therefore good customer service skills are needed. An ability to analyse and manipulate large and complex excel data sets is essential, including monitoring and entering of information onto the internal database system accurately and efficiently. This work is often time pressured so the ability to work with both speed and accuracy to internal deadlines is vital. The role requires a strong capability in interpreting complex packaging weights, packaging levels and different material types.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyse and manipulate large excel data sets
  • Manage and develop established supplier relationships
  • Develop a sound understanding of packaging data, packaging levels and material types
  • Ensure the collection of the accurate information to maintain the packaging database
  • Collaborate with suppliers extensively via phone and email
  • Work closely alongside colleagues to build strong working relationships with team members, customers, and suppliers

Your qualifications

  • Good depth of outlook, MS Word and Excel technical knowledge (Conditional Formatting, Vlookup, SUMIF, Pivot tables, running of set macros) etc.
  • Analytical and problem-solving approach with previous data gathering and reporting experience
  • Highly numerate and able to analyse complex information
  • High standard of data accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer-focused approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Positive, proactive, enthusiastic, and approachable
  • Self-motivation, goal orientated, completer
  • Organised with the ability to manage and priorities own workload to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • Minimum: 2 years previous office-based experience within customer focused role
  • Desirable: 1 or more years data entry and database experience
  • Essential: educated to GCSE/O level standard or equivalent
  • Desirable: educated to A level/degree level or equivalent
  • Position requires less than 25 % travel
